Corporate Controller

  • Reporting to the CFO, the Corporate Controller has global responsibility for the accounting, tax and audit functions of the company including consolidations, internal and external reporting, tax planning and compliance, local statutory reporting and compliance, internal controls and audit function, coordination of the annual audit, and oversight of financial systems

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consolidation of financial statements on a monthly basis in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Accounting Policies
  • Issuance of annual consolidated financial statements for parent company
  • Establishment of a strong system of internal controls including development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures and establishment of an internal audit function
  • Tax planning and corporate income tax compliance for all locations with accurate, timely filings
  • Oversight of statutory audits and related filings for locations
  • Partner with the Vice President Operations to drive production cost optimization and efficiency in product development costs; review the financial viability of new product ideas, and the projected cost of development
  • Analyze financial results and variances; identify trends; recommend and drive actions
  • Prepare annual business plans as well as quarterly forecasts
  • Provide information to management team by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations
  • Develop, implement and track plant efficiency metrics
  • Analyze Cost Improvement Project (CIP) proposals, and track actual vs. projected performance
  • Assist with the preparation of capital expenditure requests
  • Provide support for logistics, production forecasting, and product development
  • Provide clarity of understanding and drive improvements in cost reporting and related infrastructure
  • Report manufacturing costs for Corporate-level issues
  • Maintain proper accounting processes and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility to ensure no significant control issues or audit comments
  • Oversee accurate and timely costs inputs for the Annual Operating Plans
  • Oversee clear, concise, and timely monthly closing of the manufacturing systems to meet the stated deadlines and reporting needs, as well as provide timely and accurate response to requests for accounting information
  • Review financial transactions to ensure compliance with government requirements
  • Develop and improve financial systems and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Oversight of yearly pension accounting and valuation requirements
  • Management of relationships with external auditors, tax specialist and other third-party service providers
  • Oversight of the company’s financial systems
  • Special projects and ad-hoc requests as assigned by the CFO

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA certification, required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as Corporate Controller / Corporate Accounting Manager for a $500 + million, multi-entity company
  • Manufacturing accounting experience
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Public accounting experience
  • High energy, well organized and process driven with a continuous improvement focus
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit / develop a high-performance team of “A” players
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet demanding deadlines.
